Baby Yellow Naped Amazon (Amazona auropalliata) Available! Yellow Napes are one of the largest species of Amazons. They are a stunning bright, iridescent green. As they mature and reach adulthood, they develop a bright yellow patch around the back of their necks. Yellow Napes have remarkable talking abilities. They can acquire a huge vocabulary consisting of words, phrases and even songs. Someone looking to purchase an Amazon should expect to train their bird heavily. Amazons can be wonderful when they are well-trained and well socialized. Ideally, the minimum cage size for this bird would be 36’’ long, 24’’ wide and 66’’ high with ¾’’ wire spacing.
