Safe, clean, and professional boarding room with various parrots in cages, each with colorful toys
 
Parrot Stars offers a safe, clean and professional boarding service for companion parrots. Our boarding room is attended to by our highly trained Parrot Stars’ staff. The general public does not have access to the boarding room to ensure the safety of the birds.

Daily Routine:

  • All water dishes are washed, disinfected and replenished daily.
  • Dry food is offered at the instruction of the customer, we are happy to follow any feeding guidelines that are provided.
  • We always ensure that the dry food is offered on time and accurately.
  • Fresh food (chopped vegetables and fruit mixed with a soak and sprout blend) is offered daily at the approval of the customer. All fresh food is refrigerated. Fresh dishes are washed and disinfected, and removed mid-day to prevent spoilage.
  • All cages are cleaned daily.

Prepare For Boarding:

  • Negative disease testing results.
  • Bring a minimum of 3 of your parrot's toys.






ALL parrots must test negative for the following diseases in order to be boarded at Parrot Stars:
  • Chlamydia psitacia
  • Avian Polyoma Virus
  • Psittacine Beak and Feather Disease
  • Avian Borna Virus
More Disease Testing can be done by most certified Avian Vets. Parrot Stars’ offers disease testing. We collect a small sample of blood from a minor toenail clip. We also collect a sample of feces on a cotton swab. We need at least two weeks to receive the results. Testing results are valid for the entire year, unless any additional, untested parrots, have been added to the household after the tests.

ALL parrots must be brought in an enclosed pet carrier. The carrier must be clearly labeled with both the customer’s last name & the name of the parrot.

The customer must provide all toys, Parrot Stars ONLY provides the cage & perching. Toys can be brought with the parrot in a bag clearly labeled with the customer's last name and the name of the parrot. The customer is also welcome to purchase toys at Parrot Stars at the time of drop off. We require that each parrot MUST have a minimum of two toys at the time of drop off.

We will happily feed our own, size appropriate dry food, only at the approval of the customer.

Grooming And Boarding Entrance:

Enter the store through our Grooming and Boarding entrance located on the east side of our building. There is a parking lot located on the east side of the building, off of Miner Street.

I cannot rave about Parrot Stars boarding enough.  The staff are so caring and go above and beyond to make sure all birds are well cared for. I know the birds are happy to be in a safe and familiar environment, and I am sure they love being able to interact with other birds while we are away.  My male also usually comes home having learned a new whistle or two, which is also a bonus!

My male cockatiel is a happy-go-lucky type of guy that is not phased by much, but one of my female is a bit sensitive and does not like change.  Before I began boarding my birds, I was concerned with how my female would react, since she is very much a creature of habit.  I shouldn't have worried, because she has taken well to boarding all times and I think she knows she is in good and familiar hands.

In all, 5 stars (I wish I could give more!) and I suggest Parrot Stars for any need you may have. Thank you for being amazing!

We board our birds at Parrot Stars about once a year when we go on vacations.  When you live with birds on a daily basis they really are part of your family.   When it comes to boarding you need someone you can trust to take care of your flock.  Parrot Stars gives our birds the love, care, and attention they need while we get away for a vacation.  Thank you Parrot Stars team!

We boarded our green cheek conure for the first time and we were so happy to see that she wasn’t stressed or scared when we came back for her. She was happy and healthy and safe. The cost of boarding was reasonable and the food and care was awesome. I will Bring her back to PS if we need to board her again for sure!

Parrot stars is a clean safe trustworthy place . As I was going out of town and was worried as to whom I should leave my precious birds. In parrot stars Alexis is great to communicate she listen to all the needs for my birds than I came across Ken. Ken did a phenomenal job taking care of my three birds. ken is responsible, incredibly accommodating and knows the birds! He was very attentive to their needs. He knew exactly what they liked and what they didn't like. Ken was aware that I am very attached to my birds that he would do daily videos for me so I can see them. Even on his days off he went in to make sure they were doing okay. I appreciated all the updates and morning texts, it really made me at ease knowing my babies was doing so well Iappreciate Ken for his commitment to his job you can truly see he is passionate for what he does. If you're looking for a trustworthy and fantastic boarding place for your birds this is the place.

I boarded my umbrella cockatoo with parrots stars and I couldn’t be more happy with how they handled him! He is four years old and It was the first time I’ve been away from him in those four years. Ken and everyone at the store was great in handling him and taking excellent care of him and giving him the attention he needs. It’s a hard thing to leave your baby with someone else but it’s worry free with the parrot stars staff! He had daily interactions and lots of love from everyone. I would absolutely board him there again next time I have to be out of town!
