The Yellow-naped Amazon, also referred to as the yellow-naped parrot and golden-naped Amazon, is a large parrot species within the genus Amazona. It is mostly green except for the yellow feathers on the back of its neck, for which it was named. Juveniles are entirely green until they are a year old and begin to develop their yellow coloring. Yellow-naped Amazons inhabit semi-arid woodlands, arid scrub and savannas, mangroves, forest clearings, forests along rivers and swamps, and sometimes second growth in agricultural areas.
