This bird is available for adoption rather than standard placement because it is either an adult bird that was surrendered to us or a bird with a physical disability requiring a more specialized home.

Adoption Approval Required:
We are very selective with our adoption placements and maintain a strict approval process to ensure each bird is matched with the best possible home. Potential adopters should expect to provide proof of appropriate caging, along with photos and videos of the home environment where the bird will be living. Applicants will also be asked to complete a specific set of questions so we can better understand their experience level, household, and overall preparedness. Please note that we reserve full authority to approve or deny any adoption application based on factors including, but not limited to, experience, cage setup, household environment, and existing birds or flock dynamics. All adoption placements must be picked up at Parrot Stars.

Native Range: West Africa

The Senegal Parrot is a small, striking, and highly intelligent member of the Poicephalus genus. They are known for their vibrant green bodies, yellow bellies, and gray heads. Senegal Parrot’s eyes will change from dark brown as babies to yellow or silver as adults. In the wild, they inhabit savannas, open woodlands, agricultural areas, and forest edges across West Africa.

All of our hand-fed babies are hatched and raised in our own breeding facility and weaned onto a diverse, high-variety diet. Our parrots are never clipped and are fully flighted.
