Once your bird is comfortable with the Aviator Harness, it’s time to let it fly even farther with the Leash Extension.

Now your bird can fly higher, get more exercise, and perfect its flying skills — all while staying safe. And, you’ll be able to take flight training to a more advanced level. 

The Leash Extension has a durable nylon coating and stretches to safely absorb the bird’s energy when it flies to the end of the leash’s range. That means your bird gets a safe resistance from the leash so it can land safely.

Aviator Harness Leash Extensions attach directly to the Aviator Harness wrist strap.

Start with the short Leash Extension to gain experience with your flight area. It is easy to misgauge distances and allow your bird to land on a tree limb or roof that is out of reach. Many birds that are learning to fly are able to fly up but afraid to fly down from high perches.

Do not connect multiple extensions. The connection can become snagged on grass, making it difficult for a bird to maintain flight. Mow any grass short to eliminate as much drag as possible when flying.

The Leash Extension is part of the Aviator Flight System and shouldn’t be used without the Aviator Harness. Your bird should have training and practice with the Aviator Harness before adding the Leash Extension. Flying with the extension is an advanced skill for experienced Aviator Harness flyers.
